Jared Kendall

We are the family that is different. We are the couple that got married fairly quickly, we are the couple that brought our first baby home on our first anniversary. We only skipped that beat a few times and then we were at number four.. But why stop there when God is tugging on you to be different from the rest.

Become a foster parent He says – love the unloved. Nobody understands why, ever…yone says they could never let them go. Of course you can I say, because then for a day they knew they were loved. My wife and I thought we’d be foster parents for a life time, giving little one’s a home when ever we could. Our first placement came and we are blessed to say, though a tough road we are his forever family and he ours. A few princesses came and went, to quickly I must agree and we pray their families are loving them today. Our last placement was for a 10 month old (who calls herself princess) I believe God placed that on her from the start. Her sister was born at 25 weeks, weighing 1lb 11oz. We were able to start visiting her in the hospital at two weeks old. My wife and I would take turns (heads or tails) on who would get to go hold her first each day. This continued on for 3 months, 2 hrs twice a day holding this little life in our hands and watching her thrive. At four pounds we had the joy of having her officially placed with us in our home. You see everything before this was done not because we were foster parents, but for the very reason — who would? And do we want to be the people who say we just have too much love to give and don’t want to be hurt in the case that she doesn’t survive or if she is placed with another family.

Today, these amazing little girls are three and four and we hear the Angels singing through them daily. We now have adopted ourselves out of the Foster System in only four years. Our roller-coaster ride seems to have come to a halt for now. Our thirteen years of marriage have never been about us – we may fall short daily of the perfection we set for ourselves, thinking we are letting God down, but he has given us an incredible ministry under our very own roof.

My prayer is that our seven kids see Jesus in us even through our imperfections.

What I like the most is having our kids with us anywhere… and hearing the comments, the pointing and the stares. This is when I know we were obedient to His Calling and we are Different.

I thank my wife (Lettie Kendall) for reposting this blog

My daughter, her husband and daughter (my grand-daughter) will be moving soon. Now they are not moving across the state they are moving across the UNITED STATES!

So for selfish reasons I do not want to see them go. Being close to them and enjoying my grand-daughter, my daughter and her husband is very important to us. However, the Lord see things much differently than I. My son-in-law is a minister and this opportunity is such a blessing for him and his family. I know that they will be blessings to many people they encounter with this move.

My husband and I will just have to make plans to visit as often as we can. So savings account start adding up for flights at least 3 times per year. We’ll plan to drive maybe once per year if we can. We have a travel trailer and there is so much of the U.S. we haven’t seen that this will give us the opportunities to see more of the U.S.

Well my prayers are for my daughter and her family during this transition. Lord keep them safe during this time and meet their needs over the next few weeks. Amen.

UGH!! Don’t you just get aggravated over all the sites and cards and various places we have to have a pin or password. Isn’t it annoying all the different passwords, well suppose to be different, we have to have. We need an itemized list of all the places, cards, atms, web sites, etc that we have ID names and passwords just to access them. I know this is needed for security, but for heaven’s sake all the different passwords are just overwhelming. I had started a Notebook in MS Word and wouldn’ t you know it…I couldn’t remember the password that protected the notebook. So, there is no way to retrieve it, so, delete it I must. What an annoyance!

“Treat your password like your toothbrush. Don’t let anybody else use it, and get a new one every six months.”

OMGoodness! Do you know how many passwords we would have to change!!!!!

“My little sisters password for the Disney website is ‘MickeyMinnieGoofyPluto’ I asked her why…she said ‘They told me to use 4 characters.’“

This is cute!

Today I watered the raised beds and Ron began filling the newest raised bed. We recycled some concrete blocks we had as borders around trees. Now they will become sides of our raised beds. The newest bed will probably have green beans planted in it as soon as all the soil is added. I planted Blue Lake Green Beans in the 5′x10′ bed today. This is the bed that I harvested the red potatoes.

It was a beautiful day today. After Church we attended “Art in the Park”. There were many wonderful Artisans. Makes me think I should do more with my Fiber Art and participate. Hmm that takes a lot of time just to get many items made to sell and display.

Today was a work day for Ron and I. Ron worked diligently cutting the oat straw with a hand sickle. I would load the straw in our garden way cart and pull it to the garden. I watered the garden fairly well before I mulched with the straw. We still have the northern end of the garden to mulch. So we have about 8 more cart loads to cut and spread.

I also finished digging the red potatoes from the 5′x10′ raised bed. The potato vines were dying and so I pulled the plants had dug up the potatoes. Our Idaho white potato bed is still going strong and I see blossoms on the plants so I know that small potatoes are forming. They are not ready to dig yet. I also have Yukon Gold planted and Peruvian Purple Potatoes planted. I am a bit concerned about them. Hopefully, we have ample rain and they will produce nicely.

Ron and I have worked cutting oats with a sickle and carting the cut straw to the garden and mulching. We have probably put 8 carts of mulch down so far and I am sure it needs at least 10 more cart loads. The mulch will help with moisture retention in the hot summer.

The Anchor Fest is in full swing and we might travel over to take in the local food stands. Everyone enjoy your day.
